News from Ukraine on July 17, 2014

July 17 – The USA imposed sanctions on a number of companies representating Russian military industry. The sanctions hit JSCConcern “Almaz-Antey”, Kalashnikov Concern, State Research and Production Enterprise “Bazalt”, “UralVagonZavod” scientific industrial corporation”, “Federal State Unitary Enterprise – Instrument Design Bureau” as well oil and gas sector companies such as “Novatek”, “Rosneft”, ” Vnesheconombank”,”Gazprombank”.

July 17 – What seems to be a regular occurrence during the summer months (remember Georgia?) has started again today – Putin was cornered by the US and EU sanctions and began jumping up and down like a nasty old rat. Russia continues its invasion – 300 unidentified men wearing green uniforms of the Russian Army have appeared “out of nowhere” near the village of Izvaryne, said a spokesman for the Information Centre at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Andriy Lysenko. The group of armed men uses artillery and “Grad” multiple rocket launcher systems. These men are professional soldiers and the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) losses of the last days are totally on their conscience. They do all the hardest and bloodiest work. These Russian military carry no documents. They have been notified by their commanders that in case of their capture and identification they will immediately be fired from the ranks of Russian Armed Forces using false pretenses and backdates. Obviously Russia is beginning the invasion of Ukraine. President of Ukraine has called the meeting of the National Security and Defense Cuncil of Ukraine.

July 17 – The residents of the town of Gukovo in Rostov region of the Russian Federation have posted a video showing the shelling of Ukraine’s territory using “Grad” multiple rocket launcher systems located in Russia – how dare Putin tell us tales about Russia not engaging in war against Ukraine?! Same shelling of Ukrainian village of Marynivka from Russia’s territory occurred on July 17that 10.00.

July 17  – Fighting continues near Marynivka village in Donetsk oblast – ATO forces have dealt with 4 attacks by insurgents so far, informs the organizer of the “Information resistance” group Dmytro Tymchuk. Russian terrorists want to organize another illegal border crossing to transfer arms and more terrorists. 3 tanks, 2 armored personnel carriers and 3 vehicles of the terrorists were destroyed.

July 17  – “Another provocation was implemented by Russia at about 7 pm on July 16th. A military plane of the Russian Federation has struck SU-25 plane of Ukrainian Airforce, which was flying on duty over Ukraine”, informed a spokesman for the Information Centre at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Andriy Lysenko. This is the second demonstrative hit on a Ukrainian aircraft by the Russian Army!

July 17  – US sanctions caused a collapse of the Russian stock market.

July 17  – A civilian aircraft en route fromr Kuala Lumpur to Amsterdam have been shot down by the Russian terrorists who were using a “Buk” medium-range surface-to-air missile system, which was kindly presented to them by Putin. This morning this missile system was spotted by Ukrainian patriots while it was moving from the city of Torez to the city of Snizhne, informed Anton Gerashchenko, an adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs. 280 passengers and 15 crew members have dies, said he.

A Passenger Plane was Shot down in the Donetsk Region by “Buk” Missile System

On July 17, a large passenger aircraft Boeing 777, performing a flight between Amsterdam and Kuala Lumpur, was shot down in the eastern part of Ukraine. According to the General Staff of Ukrainian Armed Forces, the airplane was crashed down by “Buk” missile system as the liner was flying at an altitude of 10,000 meters.

Ukraine has no long-range air defence missile systems in this area.

The plane was shot down, because the Russian air defence systems was affording protection to Russian mercenaries and terrorists in this area.

The leader of the terrorists Igor Girkin (Strelkov) immediately commented on the airplane catastrophe, believing that it was the Ukrainian jet that crashed down: “In Torez An-26 was shot down, its crashes are lying somewhere near the coal mine “Progress”. We have warned everyone: do not fly in our skies.”

Ukraine will present the evidence of Russian military involvement into the Boeing crash.

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko called for the establishment of a National Commission with the involvement of the International Civil Aviation Organization and other international bodies to investigate the catastrophe. According to him, “those found responsible for this tragedy will be brought to justice.”

According to operational data from Information Resistance group, a passenger airplane [Boeing-777] fell down northwards of the city of Torez [Donetsk Oblast]. At 4:20 pm EEST, 16.20 the communications were lost between the ground services in Kyiv and Rostov [Russia] and the Malaysia Airlines airplane flying from Kuala Lumpur to Amsterdam [Ed. note: the plane was flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur]. Ukrainian troops from the ATO forces in the ATO zone don’t have the air defense missiles at their disposal. However, pro-Russian terrorists and units of the Russian armed forces constantly use such missiles in this region.
The information from other sources:
– there were 280 passengers and 15 members of crew on the board (www.pravda.com.ua)
– terrorists managed first to find the recorders and informed that they are  going to send them to Moscow … (www.censor.net)
so… this case we’ll never know the truth ((((
– Ukrainian Ministry of Defence started the investigation immidiately – Ukrainian militaries fixed the missile that could be the cause of this terrible terroristic operation (www.pravda.com.ua)
– on this video we can see that terrorists are rather happy to shoot the plane but they thought that this is the ukrainian plane
– There are lot of news from tweets about this tragedy here

Brothers and sisters!

Here’s the Summary for July 16, 2014 THE BAD NEWS: 1. Heavy fighting is underway in the ATO zone. Today, it is concentrated near the settlements of Amvrosiivka, Marynivka, Izvaryne and others. The RNBO [National Security and Defense Council] announced today that none of the cities previously liberated from the terrorists, have been abandoned by Ukrainian military. “Our servicemen have not moved a meter,” said Andriy Lysenko, the RNBO information center spokesperson, on this occasion. From ourselves, we would like to add that the very peak of today’s confrontation is located in the border area. Russia is helping the terrorists from its side as much as it is able to–with weapons, and personnel, and shelling from its own territory. Putin knows that once insurgent “ground communications” are interrupted with Russia, this will put an end to the conflict in Donbas. He will try to avoid this at all costs.

Grad being fired from Gukovo, Rostov Oblast, Russia toward the direction of Sverdlovsk, Ukraine today:

2. We, the IR group, are very alarmed by the new phase of Russia’s covert military invasion of Ukraine. Although it would seem that 300 Russian servicemen, whom we counted today, do not appear to be much. But realistically, it is they who are once again becoming the backbone of the terrorist groups, and the professionalism of the Russian military itself is responsible for the current meat grinder in Donbas. Local “militias” are predominantly criminals, drug addicts and other marginals, and would simply be unable to operate serious equipment and weapons coming in from Russia. This is clear to the Kremlin as well, who deploys its militaries to Donbas now. In early April, we, the IR group, reported on the entry of Russian subversive and reconnaissance groups [SRG] to Donbas (by the way, there were enough skeptics at the time who stubbornly refused to believe in the fact of the invasion). A few days later we got Sloviansk. In early May, the Russian soldiers disappeared and were replaced with mercenaries. We see nothing good in the new arrival of Russia’s little soldiers. … By the way, Russia has yet to explain the fact of the return of the corpses of its soldiers to Russia from Ukraine leaked to the media. For example, [the soldiers] of the 45th Special Forces Airborne Regiment. I would like to hear [Dmitry] Kiselev‘s version. 3. In Luhansk, terrorists are setting up [firing] positions in residential neighborhoods. Their inherent tactic is to hide behind the shield of the civilian population. And this tactic works. Conducting operations with minimal threat to life in such conditions is a headache for the ATO forces. The terrorists maintain the same modus operandi as bequeathed by Vladimir Vladimirovich [Putin]: to act from behind women, children and the elderly. I think Putin’s ancestors are spinning in their graves at the speed of a fan from the shame of their talented offspring.

1. During the past 24 hours, military aircraft conducted 29 missions. All day, the airstrikes hit insurgent positions, humanitarian aid got delivered, search and rescue actions were conducted. Each combat aircraft mission is one more step to complete the cleaning of Donbas. Each transport aircraft flight is saved lives and assistance to the civilian population. As aviators say, let the number of departures equal the number of landings. 2. Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko signed a law that grants the ATO participants the status of Combatants. This is a small part of what Ukraine owes its heroes. But this very issue has justifyingly caused some resonance in Ukrainian society for a long time. Justice has prevailed. This law delegates to the Cabinet the authority to determine the procedures for granting the status of Combatant to those who fight in Donbas. Let’s hope that the mechanism developed by the government will not allow for this status to be granted to the military bureaucrats who flocked to ATO headquarters for a couple of days as part of their business trips. 3. The leader of the Crimean Tatar People, Mustafa Jemilev, has announced today that the Turkish Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation into the violation by a Turkish cruise ship of Ukraine’s ban on entering ports in occupied Crimea. It would be a very correct and logical step by the Turkish authorities. Turkey, which has a major diaspora of Crimean Tatars, today is a natural ally of Ukraine. That’s how we perceive this state. Each Turkish step that looks like a betrayal, will be painfully perceived by Ukrainians. We believe that Ankara is still on our side. But from our side, we also have obligations to the Crimean Tatars, as well as to our fellow citizens in Crimea. Let us not forget about this.
